  Taj Mahal was an amazing resturant to dine at. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The best in Buxton!. They represent indian cusine , we wanted our food in a certain taste and the chef made this happen . Really happy would give more than 5 stars but google only allows 5

  Always had excellent food and service.
  Been in as a couple and in large groups. Also had takeaways.

  Working at Buxton Opera House this week. Visited the 'Taj Mahal' last night after the show just after 10:00pm. They advertise as being open between 5:00 and 11:00pm. Presumably last orders would be at 10:30pm, which we were well in time for. We were told by the manager to take care on the slippery floor, as we entered. The staff were already cleaning up, and he told us that the restaurant was closed for the evening. "Take-away?" he said...he might as well have said "Go away!" (or words to that effect). Obviously hadn't been very busy. We turned around, and went back down the hill to the 'Indian Palace', where we were made welcome; enjoyed a fantastic meal, served by friendly people in pleasant surroundings.
